Escape to historic and magnificent Greece for a very special Paint Europe Trip!

 

Whether you are looking to improve your painting techniques... or you are a seasoned artist and just want to paint, paint, paint... join national award-winning artist & instructor, Lori McNee, for an inspirational week of plein air painting.

Each day we'll feed our creative souls. There will be plein air painting sessions in a variety of beautiful locations... Lori will provide group demonstrations and offer individual personal instruction to all those who desire to improve your painting skills and expand your art experience... seasoned artists are free to be on their own to paint and enjoy.

Artists can choose to paint en plein air in oil, gouache and do sketchbook journaling. The painting level is beginners to professional. Everyone will get individual attention.

 

We'll begin our trip in majestic Athens, where we'll stay in the historical heart of the city. We'll paint Athens archeological landscapes and neighborhood scenes. We’ll start the day with a demonstration by Lori and spend the morning plein air painting in The Agora archeological site with the Temple of Hephaestus. Late-afternoon Lori will lead a “golden hour” painting session in Athens’ historical and colorful Plaka neighborhood, with its labyrinthine streets and neo-classical architecture.

Hydra - One of Greece's Most Beautiful Islands!

 

We'll travel by inter-island ferry from Athens' port, Piraeus, taking a 90-minute jet-foil ride to the Greek Island of Hydra, one of the prettiest spots in Greece, where we'll paint the island's whitewashed houses and churches, ancient stone windmills, and stunning coastline scenes. Hydra is one of the Saronic Islands of Greece, located in the Aegean Sea. It is an "old world" Greek island -- there are no roads, no cars, no land vehicles. Donkeys are the delivery vans. In Hydra we'll stay in a luxury boutique hotel, experience local island life and enjoy delicious Greek cuisine.

 

Hydra is an extraordinary charming setting for artists  -- an architectural marvel with stone houses that ascend the mountain from the sea, narrow stepped alleyways and winding cobbled paths, with a beautiful clear-watered horse-shoe shaped harbor... where everyone gets around on foot or on a donkey or via water taxi

Each day provides beautiful settings for a week filled of joyous plein air painting!

 

The trip includes many extras -- welcome reception with Greek wines and hors d'oeuvres, Greek wine tasting session, and farewell gala dinner with traditional Greek cuisine and wines.

​

Non-painter friends and spouses of artists are invited to join the trip.

​

There will be personal free time for... added individual painting... shopping in village boutiques... going for a horseback ride... swimming in the Aegean Sea... taking a Greek cooking class... relaxing at outdoor cafes.

​

Optional before breakfast group pleasure walks are organized for travelers who want some morning exercise before starting their vacation day.

​

Non-painter friends and spouses of artists are invited to join the trip at a reduced cost.
